RT Helper – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application RT Helper (“we”, “our”, “the App”) collects, uses and stores information when you use the App.

RT Helper is designed as a professional tool for industrial radiographic testing (RT). It focuses on local calculations and documentation for non-destructive testing workflows.

2. What information we collect

2.1. Data you enter in the App (stored locally on your device)

RT Helper is primarily an offline tool. Most of the information you use in the App is stored only on your device in a local database (SQLite), for example:

Customers, objects, work orders and drawings.
Weld numbers, weld sizes, IQI data, film parameters and exposure settings.
Calculated exposure times and presets.
Inspection results, notes and other technical information you choose to store.
Locally stored logos, photos and other attachments used in PDF reports.

This information is not automatically sent to the developer, to any cloud service or to any external server controlled by us. It stays on your device unless you manually export or share it (for example, via generated PDF files).

2.2. Subscription and purchase information

RT Helper may offer a paid PRO version via in-app subscription. When you purchase or restore a subscription, the following information can be processed:

Subscription product identifier (e.g. monthly, 3-months, 6-months, yearly plan).
Subscription status (active / expired) and expiration date.
Anonymous transaction identifiers or receipts required to validate the purchase.

Payment processing is performed by Apple (App Store) and/or third-party services such as RevenueCat. The App may store only a minimal subset of this information locally (for example, subscription status and expiration date) in order to enable or disable PRO features on your device.

2.3. Device and usage information

The App may collect anonymous technical information automatically through Apple App Store, TestFlight, RevenueCat, and Expo services. This includes device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and aggregated usage statistics. These data are used solely for improving stability, diagnosing issues, and understanding overall feature usage. They do not include personal information and cannot identify the user.

3. How we use the information

We may use collected information for the following purposes:

To provide core functionality of the App (calculations, logs, reports, presets, timers).
To enable and verify PRO subscription features.
To improve the App’s stability, performance and user experience.
To fix bugs and analyze crash reports.
To comply with legal obligations related to purchases and subscriptions, where applicable.

4. Local storage and offline mode

RT Helper is designed to work offline. Most data you enter is stored locally on your device using a database such as SQLite and the file system (for photos, logos and attachments).

You are responsible for:

Backing up your data (for example, by exporting reports or using your device backup tools).
Protecting access to your device with a passcode or biometric authentication.

5. Third-party services

The App may use third-party services, which can process data under their own privacy policies. These services may include:

Apple App Store / TestFlight – distribution of the App, in-app purchases and subscriptions.
RevenueCat – managing subscription status, validating purchases and unlocking PRO features.
Expo / React Native services – optional analytics, crash reports and error monitoring.

We do not sell your data to third parties. Any data shared with such services is strictly limited to what is necessary to ensure proper functioning of subscriptions, distribution, analytics and error tracking.

6. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for professional use in industrial environments and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required by law in your jurisdiction. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can delete it.

7. Data retention

Local data (customers, objects, welds, results, photos, etc.) is stored on your device until you delete it yourself or uninstall the App.

Subscription-related data (for example, active product ID and expiration date) is stored as long as needed to manage access to PRO features and to comply with legal obligations regarding purchases.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no mobile app or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We recommend that you:

Use a strong passcode or biometric lock on your device.
Do not share your device with unauthorized persons.
Be careful when exporting or sharing PDF reports and other documents generated by the App.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, such as:

The right to access and correct information you have entered.
The right to delete data by clearing records in the App or uninstalling the App.
The right to contact us with questions about data processing.

Since most of the data is stored locally on your device, many actions (edit, delete) are performed directly by you inside the App.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. The updated version will be published at the same URL and marked with a new “Last updated” date.
